With the repercussions of the Covid-19 pandemic, generally speaking, the situation in Japan in April 2022 has not changed that much for the better yet…
And as you can guess, the number of foreign people in Japan is even much lower than before corona, while the Japanese Sakura blossom season is known to be the busy season of the year.
However, the entertainment and fashion industry are slowly getting their activities back, as those fields always need to keep promoting their products, works and creations in a way or another, no matter what happens for the business reasons.
So then, it means for you that if you’d like to give it a try, it’s your chance to start modeling in Japan!
And I guess the same could be said for some other countries too.
Those of you who have dreamed of trying your hand at modeling in Europe, the U.S., or other parts of Asia if you have the chance, it will be too late to make a move when the world will be fully recovered!
In fact, motivation, hard work and TIMING are the keys to success if you think and act before anyone else does.
It is true that the entertainment industry is not 100% back to where it was before the Corona disaster.
As of the spring of 2022, in Japan we are probably at about 70% recovery.
But it means that it keeps on moving, so that’s your chance!
In reality, today, advertising models are more prevalent than fashion shows and exhibitions.
In particular, advertising budgets are rising steadily in the beauty and health industries, which have not been slowed by the outbreak.
There are many opportunities to become a poster model in the health or beauty industries, which have never seen a recession.
In the field of events, there is an increasing number of places that use foreign and half-Japanese talents as promotional models (so-called “companions”), MCs (Master of Ceremonies), and narrators, which are working in a slightly different way from models.
And here is a rule that is valable for both Japanese and non-Japanese that people who can do a wide range of jobs without specializing only in modeling will always be valued and have then more opportunities.
In short, we are talking about people who excel in adaptability and flexibility.
Regarding sanitary matters, masks are still required even in event halls, and to be honest, the faces of promotion girls and narrators covered with masks are not completely visible, which is a regrettable situation for them and for the customers.
And I guess that this measures and restrictions will remain in place for some time yet.
As of spring 2022, various mutant strains of Corona, such as Delta and Omicron strains, are raging in the world, and I personally believe that some new mutant strains will probably emerge in different forms in the future.
(It is just my personal opinion but it would be logical somehow).
And assuming that the outbreak will not end easily, I feel that there will be a big difference in the future between those who are waiting for the world to recover and those who have already tried to make a new start in this current situation.
Each person has his or her own way of thinking, and it is up to each individual, but I think it makes sense those days to wonder how can we survive in this time of changes?
And when will we take any concrete and valuable action to cope with it?
We need to think over it to have the ability to move forward from now on.
Many unexpected things happen in life that influence our way of living or thinking.
So we want models and promotional models to acquire the ability to survive and enjoy these times even if they are though.
Things happening in our daily life can be perceived in different ways, whether they are enjoyable or painful.
And it is our choice then to choose how to move with it.
In fact, I believe that nowadays technology can make the way we perceive things more positive.
And anyone can acquire the skills through learning and training.
For example, if your boss says to you, “Mr. X, can you do this today?” Let’s say you’ve answered,
“I’m afraid I think I cannot.”
In your mind, you think, “No, this surely may not be done today…”
This has already become a negative thought.
But the people who have the skill to consider and to visualize their potential as limitless can do so much more…
“How can I do it today?”
Here you already consider that you can do it and think more about the way you can do it.
Do you see the difference? This is very important.
Consequently, maybe a better way to respond to your boss in such a case could be: “The time is short so it is objectively challenging to complete it today but I’ll try anyway and I will finish as soon as I can anyway.”
People who don’t go out of their comfort zone and don’t go a little over their own limits cannot expect to develop.
In fact, this is like going to the gym and working out…
“Today I’ll try to make one set more!” or “Today I’ll try to go one step over!” are the kind of mindset that can help you A LOT and that make THE difference.
So to increase the limit value of your thinking, you must first expand your framework thinking.
This is a very small thing, but this accumulation of small little things that you put in your mind is actually very important and can have a real impact later on.
In general, people cannot do big things all of a sudden.
But the small accumulation of their daily and regular efforts will show up in the results of their work and life.
So if you say to yourself: “I want to be a model now! I want to be an actor! I want to be an actress! I don’t mind what it is, I just want to be successful in the world!”
If you first say to yourself, “I can do it,” then this trivial thought of yours is going to create unconsciously a different framework that will gradually change your mindset into a “How can I do it?” framework.
From then, you will be able to challenge yourself and believe more in your dreams!
So even if it seems hard, it doesn’t mean that you can’t do it, especially when you become aware that you can also find some people on your way that can help you!
